The 3rd International Conference “BIM in Construction and Architecture” (BIMAC 2020; http://bim.conf.spbgasu.ru/en/) was held on October 28-30, 2020. This year the event was held online on the Zoom platform within the scope of the BIM-ICE project (WP4).
The BIMAC 2020 target audience: practicing specialists in the field of design of buildings and structures, managers of construction companies, researchers, as well as graduate and undergraduate students and HEI professors.
The BIMAC 2020 geography was very wide, it brought together experts from Russia, Finland, Armenia, the Ukraine, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Poland, and Belarus.
The total number of participants exceeded 195 BIM experts, among which a significant part are professors and students representing architecture and civil engineering universities.The conference was also attended and supported by major vendors of BIM software and equipment, such as Graphisoft, ASKON-SZ, NPF Topomatic, Geodetic Instruments and others.The participants made an overview of their current achievements and presented the results obtained in the field of BIM-modeling in construction sector related to the design, erection and maintenance of buildings, as well as education, regulatory framework and economic aspects of the issue. The separate conference section was devoted to young researchers’ reports.
Based on the results of the conference, the BIMAC 2020 Proceedings were published with further RSCI (Russian Science Citation Index) indexation. Experts of the BIM-ICE project from SPbGASU and LAB University of Applied Sciences not only joined the editorial board of the collection, but also presented their articles on the international and Russian experience of using BIM.
