Round table discussion 2 December 2020

The opening seminar of the BIM-ICE Project on October 29, 2020 and the round table discussion “Possibilities of Education in Promoting BIM Implementation in Companies” on December 2, 2020 were held online in Zoom and MS Teams.

In the scope of the opening seminar, which gathered more than 90 participants from Finland and Russia, the current state of the Project was presented as well as the roles and benefits for partner companies were highlighted for further project network development.

On December 2 the guest speakers representing construction&design companies from Finland and Russia, BIM-ICE project WP leaders and students had a fruitful discussion on BIM philosophy, BIM current stage at large-scale and small companies in Finland and Russia, BIM education and standards, hindrances for BIM implementation in construction sector and HEI study process, new BIM use cases and future perspectives for BIM in both countries.

Being on different stages of BIM development Finland and Russia face the common challenges and aim at finding balanced solutions for tackling not only technical issues, but also social and cultural aspects connected to BIM philosophy.
